Seven sins after all Go to bedside For in the light of candles Not a soul can hide Now that all these roadmaps You thought would lead you astray Have brought you back like an infant Will you learn to live as you say? Seven sins after all Go to bedside And when my words have lifted To cathedrals in the sky Will I be answered by the black crow's caw Or the white dove's gentle cry? Seven sins after all Go to bedside

Well, I'm living alone, got these bad old apartment blues I'm living alone, got these bad old apartment blues Spend every night wondering what the heck I'm supposed to do I don't go out for walks, I stay inside and pace I don't go out for walks, I stay inside and pace Ain't no use going outside, don't nobody wanna see my face I get on my computer, see all them people smile I get on my computer, see all them people smile Wish one of them would be my friend, maybe call me up once in awhile I'm running away to New York, see all them buildings so tall I'm running away to New York, see all them buildings so tall Gonna make 'em hear a big voice from a boy so small Well, I'm living alone got these bad old apartment blues I'm living alone got these bad old apartment blues Looking like it's about time I just make up my mind and choose

He was a friend of mine He was a friend of mine Every time I think about him I just can't keep from cryin' 'Cause he was a friend of mine He died alone at home He died alone at home They found his body In his bedroom tied to a rope And he was a friend of mine I stole away and cried I stole away and cried 'Cause I've stared into that darkness It almost took my life And he was a friend of mine He never hurt no one He never hurt no one Though no one could tell you why The guilt just strangled his mind And he was a friend of mine He was a friend of mine He was a friend of mine Every time I hear his name I just can't keep from cryin' 'Cause he was a friend of mine

Leftovers 03:26
I don't know what to say When I'm told "It's time to pray" Hold my hands in front of my face No food 'til we've said grace And I'm passed over with my leftovers
5.
Morning Song 02:15
When you go to work each day I'm left on the bed to lay And though I know that There's nothing you can do Still, I wish that you'd just keep hitting "snooze" And when I get up to make food Eating without you just feels rude I sit and remember Watching you get dressed I worry that some day I'll just be a houseguest And if you died I'd just let go I'd follow you to places we don't know But for now I'm waiting For you to come back home And when you get here We'll never be alone
6.
Rain 01:44
I saw you in the rain Hair down, streaming in your face Sometimes I feel the same Sometimes I feel the same
7.
Can I take you out? There's something that I'd like to talk about with you Don't let others know But every night I dream about what we could do Just listen to my voice Like there's no one else around No one to put us down Just you and me and time to say The things we always meant But never got to say And love will light the way Life goes by too fast You blink your eyes and old ways give to something new It's hard to know what's right When anything you do or say can be confused But just listen to my voice Like there's no one else around No one to put us down Just you and me and time to say The things we always meant But never got to say And love will light the way And when things get tough Look to me I'll lift you above Everything We'll soar through the sky Just promise me You won't close your eyes There's nothing left to fear As long as I am here Nothing in our way We can fly right through The stratosphere today We can do what we will do And say what we will say And love will light the way

about

Miserable Prick

He was a miserable prick.
Plenty would say the same.
He was a cranky cynic looking
For someone to blame.
And if that someone
Refused to appear,
He soon would start to whine
That the end was near.

He was a miserable prick,
I’m not sorry to say.
He barked at everyone
That got in his way.
Where he was going
We couldn’t quite know,
But I think we can assume
He’s found that place below.

He was a miserable prick.
No stories to tell.
Except maybe that time
He fell down the well.
Took us all night
Just to raise him up,
And when we finally got him
He was shivering like a pup.

He was a miserable prick.
I’m sure you’d agree.
Always complaining
That he had to go pee.
But soon as you’d let him
Out of his den
He’d just as soon cry
That he wanted back in.

He was a miserable prick.
I doubt I’ll miss him.
Just wish he could’ve taken
That old house with him.
Now I have to look at it
Day after day
And pretend that my hound
Never went astray.
